Best Use of Digital Media

For innovative/creative presentations of human rights stories using digital tools and/or multimedia techniques to creatively uncover or engage people in a human rights story or issue. Entrants must have been published for the first time or have had substantial fresh content published during 2020. Click here for previous entries, for reference.

Please ensure that you have read the Entry Criteria before completing your submission (link opens in new window). You can submit your entries in 2 ways.

Once you have entered, you will be emailed a copy of your submission. This email will include your Unique Entry Number and the link to our viewing platform. You will need to include your Unique Entry Number when naming the file you wish to upload so that we can identify your entry.

Please Note: your file must be no larger than 500 MB. We do not require high res or HD files at this stage.

Please provide below the URL (and any necessary passwords) to your entry or a 3rd streaming platform such as Vimeo or YouTube.

Entry Details

Please provide an entry synopsis. This should include a physical description (eg: online campaign by VICE.com) and names of key contributors such as presenters or reporters, if relevant. (max 300 words).

Please describe the impact of the piece and how it contributed to human rights change. For example, did it influence government policy or a change in law? Did it reach a wide and varied audience? Refer to the Entry Criteria for a full list of how we measure impact. Please provide evidence where possible (eg: links to news stories, viewing figures, etc). (max 200 words).

Please provide details of any financial / in-kind support you may have received in the production of your entry, excluding support from the media outlet from which it was broadcast or published (please note all information disclosed will be treated as confidential).
Media Awards entries may be used or reproduced by Amnesty International to promote the Amnesty International Media Awards. This includes being used in the Amnesty magazine and promotional materials for the awards, on the Amnesty International UK website and social media accounts, at the Amnesty Media Awards ceremony and other Amnesty events, and in other Amnesty communications.

Invoicing

(Required for the BBC and most commercial outlets...)

Invoices will be raised by Keystone Conference & Event Management Ltd, an approved supplier to both the BBC & ITV.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship is available for freelance journalists and film makers or media outlets (print, broadcast or online) which are not for profit, campaigning, or serve small targeted audiences on tight budgets. If you feel you fit any of these categories, tick the box and give us a very brief explanation. You will be notified if your application has been successful after the closing deadline on 25 January 2019. If you have not been successful, we will inform you after this date and if you still wish to enter, the fee below will be applicable and invoiced.

Fees

  • £140.00 (exc. VAT)

Amnesty International UK will store and process your data in order to provide you with the information necessary to process your entry to the awards, and as a past entrant to inform you of future award events. You can opt out of receiving information about future awards at any time by email or calling us, or by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link in our emails. Contact details will not be shared with any third parties without your agreement.
